Kendrick Lamar On President Obama: “The World Owes Him” In a recent interview reflecting on  Obama presidency.  Kendrick Lamar shared some thoughts on the Obama presidency in a recent interview with XXL. He said he thinks that the “world” owes Obama, and pointed out how his opening of the White House to hip-hop artists might not happen again. “We would probably never get inside that house ever again.

Rick Ross, Cole, Nicki Minaj, he really went for us to come experience it,” Lamar said. He also praised Obama’s personable attitude, saying “you look at him as such a high figure in the world, but for him to embrace you and have a connection with you further than just being the President and make you feel like an actual friend,” was “one of his best characteristics.”

Earlier this month, Lamar challenged President Obama to a game of basketball. Obama also recently called Lamar one of his favorite rappers, saying he was doing “amazing work.” In January, the two met in the White House, for a meeting that was documented in a mentoring PSA called “Pay it Forward.”
