Emtee Pays Tribute To Ambitious Records

Born in Mtatiele, a small town in the Eastern Cape, Mthebeni eMtee Ndevu aka ‘’Emtee Da Hustla” to his fans, is a pure talent that has taken South Africa by storm. Emtee is currently signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment, a South African independent record label. His debut album Avery was certified platinum by RISA on 1 July 2016. Mthembeni Ndevu (born September 15, 1992), better known by his stage name Emtee, is a South African rapper. He is best known for his debut hit single, “Roll Up”.

2008 was a year where Emtee pushed mixtapes amongst his peers and gained streetcred. In 2010 Emtee met rapper Maraza, whom he collaborated with on a song titled ‘In it to win it’. Which helped build his name on the streets. They started a group called ‘4front’, specializing in electro, dub step and rap. 2013 saw the group split to focus on solo careers. Emtee released an EP called “Do it Yourself” (DIY).

Speaking to TMG Entertainment last year, Emtee revealed that he is in the process of starting his very own record label. He said the inspiration for the label comes from wanting to help develop artists who are copying his sound.

Although he was shy to reveal the name of the label, Emtee explained that he is currently registering the company and has already started scouting for talent.

Emtee reassured fans that the record label will not mean the end of his relationship with Ambitiouz. He will stay on the Ambitiouz roster, while his label will serve under the Ambitiouz Entertainment umbrella.

He says that the decision to launch his own record label also comes from his desire to spread his talents and brand across a number of platforms.
