'Cassper Doesn’t Make ANY Money From His Artists,' Says Tshego

‘Cassper Doesn’t Make ANY Money From His Artists,’ Says Tshego! Cassper Nyovest is one of the biggest Hip Hop artist in South Africa at the moment and this is partly because of his ever growing record label Family Tree.
With the amount of money the rapper has you would think that his record label is making him loads of money. This isn’t the case according to Tshego who is one of Family Tree’s members. Apparently the Family Tree boss chooses not to make money from any of his artists.
“I won’t lie our deal with Family Tree is basically unheard of. Cass doesn’t make ANY money from his artists right now, by choice. And that allowed us to create an environment where everyone is their own boss with their own teams, but contributing to one goal. Fuck shit up,” tweeted Tshego.
Family Tree is an indie record label, therefore I am an indie artist. Unless you’ve signed distribution with a major label you will be considered indie. How much of what you created do want ownership of? There’s 2 answers, Indie or Major…you choose.

With that said.. If you aren’t built for what comes with being Independent, which usually means doing 80% of it yourself (marketing/radio/videos/bookings/etc) then buddy cut your losses and sign that other contract cause you’re definitely headed for depression.
