Saudi Speaks On His Survival After Leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment. Numerous musicians have benefited from SA hip-hop becoming a huge business, which has created numerous multimillionaires and developed into its own economy. But this popularity has also brought with it corruption, financial dishonesty, and other despicable behaviours used by the very businesses and organizations that make money off of the music. 

SA rappers have been dragged into this unfortunate circumstance with record labels being a hub where most artists have been reduced to nothing. Ambitiouz Entertainment has made headlines following their disputes with many rappers and many big names in SA hip hop have arguably endured the wrath of the label.

Following his departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment, Saudi came out and stated he is now making more money compared to his days as a signed artist. The rapper is currently enjoying being his own boss, having founded an independent label called Ovloe Monoloply and signing only himself.

During an interview with Drum, the rapper mentioned that he is now making more money compared to when he was at Ambitiouz Entertainment. “I am the only artist signed to the label because I believe in myself … Being my own boss put my career in my hands,” he said. “I am making more money now. But I have way more responsibilities.”

Saudi felt his departure from the label was handled fairly in comparison to other artists who left the label. “There’s no need for me to speak ill of people. I would never want someone to betray my trust, hence I don’t do the same to them. Ambitiouz wasn’t a weird slave trade. I was getting paid good. I left on good terms because we had a good, professional relationship.”

“My biggest worry and anxiety was whether or not I had made the right decision, or will this workout and what if people shut doors at. What if bad things will be said and people won’t want to do business with me. But I found that none of that happened. It was all in my head, it doesn’t exist,” said Saudi.

“That was a huge fear and again being young and being around people who have a passion for music kept me motivated.”
