Hip-hop music and the associated lifestyle need for a more realistic approach from artists, who must consider their options beyond just producing beats and music. NOTA Explains Why A-Reece Will Never Be An SA Hip Hop Superstar

Even though rappers such as Cassper Nyovest and AKA have made a business out of hip hop, there are still other rappers who are falling behind and missing out on stardom. Speaking during a Podcast interview with DJ Sbu and American YouTuber Mansa, NOTA revealed that it will be difficult for other SA rappers to reach the levels that Cassper has reached and A-Reece is no exception.

“For me, I always look for someone who got the drive and motivation that I’ve got, the only person I’ve seen in terms of drive and motivation to compare myself with is Cassper,” he said. “I don’t see anybody else no one else can drive me because I know that guy is gonna go on.”

Asked whether A-Reece can also be among the SA rapper who has the drive and motivation to be the best, NOTA said; “A-Reece has proven that he doesn’t have the drive to be number 1, he is very comfortable in being a rapper,” said NOTA.

Adding to what NOTA said, Mansa also shared the same sentiment saying; “I feel what he is saying, I do agree because like, A-Reece you never see him, in this time and age you have to be on social media, you have to market yourself, you have to be out there, A-Reece just doesn’t do that,” he said. “He doesn’t have star quality at all, at all,” he added.

NOTA further wrapped it up by stating that the Paradise hitmaker must get involved in doing more than music. The music exec tipped the Pretoria-based rapper to venture into the business side of hip hop and stop relying on the music alone. “You’re not topical unless you are dropping music and we need more than music,” said NOTA.

Big Xhosa previously shared the same sentiment towards A-Reece’s music career. The Inyile chanter stated that A-Reece’s fans are to blame for his complacency towards his rap career. “I love A-Reece but his fans are ruining him. He has become so comfortable musically and does not wanna step outside the box. Bro been releasing the same song for the past 3 years. Nothing is exciting or nothing is unexpected from him. The A-Reece at Ambitious was better.” Tweeted Big Xhosa.
