The iWalk Ye Phara collaborator recently took to his Instagram to share the track list for the upcoming album also sharing the challenges he had to go through while creating the album. Spirit Of Ubuntu has a total of 11 tracks and features some of Mzansi’s biggest names in music.

Zulu Mkhathini lined up the likes of Black Motion, Anatii, Boohle, Holly Rey, and Zama Jobe for the album. He also mentioned that he carefully selected all the contributors to the album and thanked them for their input.

In approaching this project, the challenge for me as creative was to avoid creating trending music or making content that is typically expected from me, the aim has been to push myself in exploring different sonics and escaping the one genre curse. It was important for not only me but everyone involved to get out of our comfort zone and produce innovative sounds.

Each of the artists and producers were specifically handpicked to contribute in executing this vision. Thanks to all the amazing vocalists, musicians, engineers and writers who I now call my family for blessing me with their talent. Nigyabonga, umntu ngumuntu ngabantu.

In previous Instagram posts, Zulu Mkhathini mentioned that Spirit of Ubuntu is going to be a very personal project and it won’t be a sound that people expect from him. He announced the album in January 2021 with a powerful announcement video titled Sekonakele. He directed the video himself alongside Nigel Stockly.
