Cassper On Why He Chose To Switch Into AmaPiano & What He Despises About Hip Hop. Most people have lately been questioning if Cassper is still a hip hop artist or he’s just being versatile.
Nyovest has been tapping into a variety of genres including Kwaito,Motswako and AmaPiano. He has recently stated why he felt the need to try it all out.
At one point the Move For Me hit-maker had many complaints about SA hip hop which saw him highlighting how he feels disregarded by the genre. Even so, that wasn’t the reason he fused his sound with other genres. He felt the need to coincide with what is relevant and dominating in SA currently, which is AmaPiano.
“It’s the biggest Sound in South Africa right now. That’s what the people want to hear!!! It killed everything!!!! I love it!!! Just purely authentic South African music!!! I’ll put you on so we introduce it to Naija,” he said responding to Nigerian artist Special Slim.
He further clarified that he still loves hip hop but can’t stand the politics it comes – which can be rather draining.
“Don’t get it twisted, i still love Hip Hop music. I just hate the politics. Needed the break. Will be back one day. With a Bang!”
