The 11-track album prompted discussions among the South African hip-hop community, with each song drawing reactions. However, it was the tribute song to AKA, titled “Candlelight,” that became the centre of debate.

AKA and Cassper had a long-standing rivalry within the rap culture, making it quite surprising that Mufasa decided to compose a song for his adversary, given their history. Nyovest faced significant backlash from AKA’s Megacy fanbase for including the song in his album. However, Zingah, a fellow rapper turned podcaster, expressed his perspective on Cassper’s tribute song, deeming it a necessary gesture.

During the “Culture Chop” segment of his “Choppin It With Bhudha T Podcast,” Zingah shared his viewpoint, emphasizing that the feud between the two rappers was merely a rivalry, and it’s not as though they would have celebrated each other’s passing.

“Is Cassper not allowed to feel the same thing everybody felt from losing AKA?” Zingah asked in his defence of Cassper. “Also, these guys were beefing but it’s not like these guys wanted to kill each other. I dont think the hate was like that. It’s not the type of beef where Cassper was happy to hear that this n**g dead, it’s not like that. It was a career thing,” Zingah said.

He continued; “I think their beef was more so a mutual respect at work thing and competition. Even though they ended up placing hands on each other.”

Discussing Cassper’s tribute song, Zingah expressed the opinion that some people were criticizing Cassper because they believed he might be leveraging AKA’s passing to promote his album. “I dont think anybody felt as though the song was malicious, but I think people are judging him more so feeling like he’s using the man’s death to try and gain some traction into his album by now showing some fake sentiments, which I dont think was fake either.”
