Pro Kid’s Brother Releases A Song In His Honour And Opens Up About His Passing

It has been 11 months since the shocking death of one of SA Hip Hop icons Linda Mkhize popularly known as Pro Kid.

The rapper has a brother by the stage name DJ City Lyts who has recently announced a song released to honour and remember him, the track is titled Cel’ukuthi.

Speaking to DRUM publication City Lyts explained the meaning behind the song and why he did it.

“Cel’Ukuthi is a party song, sort of like an after-tears celebration by artists who were influenced by big bro,” he he said.

The DJ further told the paper that he is still hurting from his brother’s passing and clarified on the rumours that he inherited his money and misused it.

“I shared so many special moments with my bother and we had so many plans. I’m trying to accept it, but the pain won’t go away.”

“They said I inherited his money and was spending it recklessly and that he died in the arms of his side chick, Mandisa Mbanjwa, but I don’t know any of that. My brother wasn’t a very open guy – he protected me a lot and there were many things he didn’t share with me.”

In addition City Lyts blamed Pro’s friends for his death.

“I was upset that his friends were chilling with him and they knew he was sick but didn’t take him to the doctor. They just went out and didn’t check up on him,” he told DRUM.
