According to the latest report by Rolling Stone publication Jay Z will be joining a weed business intended to help people with jobs and better salaries.
On a statement released earlier this week the rapper explained his reasons of venturing into such business and the role he will play.
Jay Z is set to serve as the company’s chief brand strategist to mould the creative direction and increas its outreach efforts. His aim of taking up the opportunity is to increase the “representation and participation” of those with criminal records who are prohibited from participating in the growing industry.
“Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level. With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva’s expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good, and bring people along the way.”
The company focuses on community outreach by offering steady jobs to those affected by the wage gap.
“For Jay-Z to seek out Caliva as a partner is humbling and confirms our mission of being the most trusted name in cannabis,” O’Malley told Rolling Stone. “To find that we were in complete alignment around our values and ethos was just a home run. We believe this partnership is unparalleled in this or any business and we could not be more pleased to be working with him and have him as our Chief Brand Strategist.”
