Sho Madjozi On What The John Cena Song Was Really About

Sho Madjozi On What The John Cena Song Was Really About. Most South Africans believed that Sho Madjozi’s single John Cena was actually about him, she has clarified that it wasn’t.

The Huku hitmaker had a chat with TimesLive where she opened about the new trending track John Cena. She debuted the single on her Colors Studio performance and ever since then it has been receiving a worldwide recognition.

The song may have had the John Cena name but it wasn’t exactly about him. It was about the heartbreak Sho experienced, she used the name as a figure of speech aligned to the tag line of the wrestler You Can’t See Me.

“I believe that I make heartbreak gqom. I wrote that song about somebody who’s trying to act like they don’t see me like John Cena. People just took it to another level,” she said.

She expressed how the attention the song received was unexpected, even John Cena giving her a shout out.

“It’s crazy that I got a shout out from John Cena who I used to watch on TV. Seeing that I was living in the village with my aunt, we didn’t really have a TV at home. The only time we were able to watch TV was when we watched Generations and WWE.”
