Emtee Claims To Be On His Way To Revive “The Death Of SA Hip Hop”

Emtee Claims To Be On His Way To Revive “The Death Of SA Hip Hop”. Some South African hip hop fans feel that the genre is slowly dying and that only a few people are working to keep it alive with a thin thread.

A tweep stressed an opinion that only AKA is keeping SA alive, meaning that without him the genre would be as good as dead. His opinion was challenged by a number of hip hop fans who deemed it misguided. Amongst people who objected to the view was Emtee who said that he is coming.

The Hustla said that he is on his way to revive the game and let it live. The Manando hit-maker has recently left his label and is now working to reviving his solo career and company ATM.

When he left AE he highlighted that he wanted to be free – meaning he is looking to create and deliver music he’s comfortable with.

“I wanted freedom. To be Independent and be away from controversy and having my name cleared from the tag of villainy. I felt I was trapped with the not so good things happening in the label. Didn’t want the pressure to gain the love but wanted to do things in my own terms in my career,” he said.

When he claimed that he is preparing to give life to the supposedly dead SA hip hop game, tweeps reacted variously.
