Nadia Nakai On The Effects South African Xenophobic Attacks Are Having On Her Visit In Nigeria. Nadia Nakai has expressed how unsafe she feels in Nigeria as a South African with all the xenophobic attacks that have been taking place in SA.

South Africans resumed their acts of burning down shops of immigrants this week. The attacks have caused major chaos and fury among South Africans and other African nationals residing in SA. At this point around Johannesburg all shops are closed and Nigerians are threatening to fight back.

Nadia Nakai chose an unfortunate time to visit Nigeria, she feels caught up in the mix of chaos. She visited the place with an aim to market her album.

“I was in Ojuelegba just yesterday and never did I feel unsafe or not welcome… they knew I was South African! IT should never be okay to attack and hurt innocent people because A criminal came from their country,” she wrote.

In addition to her fears she expressed how South African men need to do better and stop violating women.

“We have a whole South African evil man who committed a hideous crime while having so many other crimes against women every day in South Africa, BUT we don’t walk around fucking up every South African man we see! The violence needs to stop.”
