WATCH: SA Rappers Drop Music Addressing The Issues Of Xenophobia & Violence Against Women. It has indeed been a dark week for South Africans dealing with the rising number of violence against women. In addition to all that there is a crisis of xenophobic attacks that have led to even more serious matters.

South African rappers have decided to use their voices to speak out on the issues. As people who are rather influential in the media industry it seemed appropriate to put their creativity to greater use. Unlike most videos further perpetuating violence and hate, these few rappers used a positive approach which promotes ubuntu.

The videos shared below possess the personal views of the rappers on what is going in SA. As Zulu Makhathini stated, celebrities must use the sectors of their platforms in ways that build.

“Influential people need to think very long and hard before they speak/tweet at this current state because you are likely to mislead the masses and create more havoc. IF YOU’RE NOT PRESENTING A SOLUTION OR SAYING ANYTHING POSITIVE STFU! This is not the time to chase clout,” wrote the former Dream Team member.
