“SA Hip Hop Is Going Nowhere Very Slowly,” DJ Speedsta & The Pop Cast Crew Discuss New SA Hip Hop.On a recent episode of the interesting pop cast show discussing all things hip hop, DJ Speedst, Miss Pru, DJ Vigilante & Scoop Makhathini exchange views on what the new SA hip hop lack.

Hip hop is a vast predominant genre which consists of artists who try to bring about uniqueness but somehow end up sounding the same. These are the views presenters put forward on the PopCast. DJ Speedsta made a point of how SA hip hop is dying because it presents nothing new to the audience.

“I think South African hip hop is going nowhere very slowly.” DJ Vigilante joined in stating that he feels Hip hop lacks elements bold enough to attract one to a point of getting hooked or relate to.

“Some of the songs I’m like ‘mhm it doesn’t really translate what I need now.” Miss Pru went on to make a point of South African rappers adapting the American sound.

“WE STILL LOOKING FOR THE NEW SOUTH AFRICAN HIP HOP SOUND.SHOULD WE BE LOOKING FOR THE SOUND?ARE WE HUNG UP ON PAST GLORY?WILL WE FIND IT AGAIN OR ARE WE SEARCHING IN VAIN?” questioned Scoop.
