Vusi Thembekwayo : “People think that South African rappers started creating record labels because they smart”. Entrepreneur and Global speaker Vusi Thembekwayo had an interesting interview last night, which saw him unveil a variety of points including reasons behind rappers creating labels.

We have seen the likes of Fifi Cooper, Cassper Nyovest & K.O to say the least establish their own record labels. The reason constantly highlighted for this is to avoid depending on labels that’ll come with terms they feel will restrict their freedom to explore the height of their talents.

Vusi has recently explained that rappers actually creating their own labels is not about being smart or only to avoid dependency but a business move intended to make more money.

“People think South African rappers started creating record labels because they smart. No they started creating record labels because that’s where the money is.”
