Skwatta Kamp Pays Tribute To Nish “He Is What Skwatta Kamp Is”. The SA Hip-Hop community was saddened by the death of Skwatta Kamp member Nish. His passing was announced on the 5th of February 2021. The rapper succumbed to COVID-19 after a long stay in hospital.

Skwatta Kamp members came together to celebrate Nish’s life and share stories of their times as a group. Group member Shuga Smaxx spoke about the duality of Nish’s personality. He said that Nish wasn’t as quiet as most thought.

“He had a special place in all of your hearts as much he has a special place in our hearts. It is very important that I express that Nish was the attitude of this entire collective. Individually we all have a certain personality but when we come together the personality that you see presented towards you was his” Shuga Smaxx said.

Shuga Smaxx continued to praise his group member by mentioning that Nish often took charge and that he was actually the one who came up with their group name.

“He controlled the show from the background. Even coming up with the name Skwatta Kamp. We just agreed to it, that is the guy that Nish is. For those that said Nish is the quiet one he was actually all of us. He is what Skwatta Kamp is“.

Shuga Smaxx mentioned that Nish and Flabba both mastered the art of rapping before anyone else in the group. The group seeked their approval when it came to rapping, everyone looked up to them.
