Black Twitter’s Reaction To Gemini Major Laughing Off How Amapiano Have Defeated Gqom. Producer and rapper Gemini Major who has worked on a number of songs raised a view of how genres actually kill off one another.
The recently famous genre in South Africa is Amapiano, it hasn’t only been a threat to Hip hop but Gqom as well. Rappers often comment about the genre – Cassper, AKA, Nasty C and now Gemini Major have tweeted their thoughts on it.
Major made claims that Amapiano have taken over and defeated Gqom which dominated for the past few years. On radio, TV and charts β Amapiano have become an anthem for the country.
βAma piano has fully taken over , I ainβt even heard any GQOM at all in Durban ,crraaaazy,lol,β he wrote.
The reactions were a mixture of yes and no from fans who felt passionate about both genres.
