#AKAwinanga – South Africans React To Burna Boy Losing Out On The Grammy Award

AKAwinanga – South Africans React To Burna Boy Losing Out On The Grammy Award. South African Twitter has proven just how far they can get with being savage.

While most people are celebrating their wins at the Grammy Awards which took place last night, others didn’t get as much lucky. Burna Boy was a recent nominated African act in the event, the fact that he didn’t win had most South Africans rub salt to his wound.

The BET award winner was rooted greatly by fellow Nigerians to take home the award. Congratulations to him were embedded with criticism from how South Africans treated the singer. When he lost out on the award nominated for World Music Album for his 2019 album African Giant – South Africans used the chance to get back at Nigerians and Burna Boy.

Burna lost out to Beninese singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo.

The artist paid tribute to Burna Boy in her acceptance speech and dedicated the award to the Nigerian musician.

β€œThis is for Burna Boy. He is among those young artists who came from Africa who are changing the way our continent is perceived, and the way African music has been the bedrock for every type of music,” she said.

Unfortunately SA tweep showed little to no emotion at his loss.
