Rashid Kay On Why Gold & Platinum Plaques Have Lost Value

Aewonwolf replies to Rashid!

Rashid Kay On Why Gold & Platinum Plaques Have Lost Value. For most artists getting a Plaque for music isn’t easy since it requires a huge sale of copies and streams. It has now been implied that most artists who reach gold, platinum or diamond status buy them.

Rashid Kay has always stood fair to his sentiments despite who they impact. Keeping true to his nature he expressed boldly that the gold and platinum plaques artists brag about mo longer carries more value.

“Record Labels cook numbers so much, Gold and Platinum plaques don’t have that thing anymore because of lies,” wrote Kay.

Replying to the tweet, fellow rapper Aewonwolf explained how the ‘behind the scenes’ of the music industry operates.

“They good for marketing and getting more plays cause we live in a era of numbers cause people only validate value by numbers not by their own taste or ears anymore. It’s not about the music anymore. The algorithms will tell you what’s good and who to listen to.

“So they do anything to get people typing your name and feeding the algorithms. That’s why they pull stunts before and after their releases, it’s to feed the algorithm cause it can’t tell if someone listens to hate or love you. It just knows ppl care enough to type your name,” said Aewon.
