Pop Smoke’s Record Label Releases A Statement Concerning His Tragic Death. Following the tragic and untimely death of 20-year old rapper Pop Smoke, his label Republic Records releases a statement concerning his passing.

Pop was gunned down Wednesday this week in his hole in Los Angeles by allegedly two men who were robbing him. A lot of speculations have been making rounds concerning his death but the authorities have only stated they have captured one suspect who was released on bail later on the day of the murder.

The label dropped a statement which : “We are devastated by the unexpected and tragic loss of [Pop Smoke], Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family, friends and fans, as we mourn this loss together.”

Late last month Smoke dropped Meet The Woo 2, a project that would go on to become his final album. In its first week, Meet The Woo 2 performed admirably, selling 36,000 album-equivalent units and sliding comfortably into the fourth spot on the Billboard charts.

A number of people are still in disbelief at Pop’s death and some angered, rappers have poured out tributes including 50 Cents and Nicki Minaj who blamed it on jealousy.
