Rashid Kay On How Best Rap Award From The SAMAs Was Wrongly Given To Zwai Bala

Rashid Kay On How Best Rap Award From The SAMAs Was Wrongly Given To Zwai Bala. In the midst of the public’s outrage regarding former SA Deputy President FW De Klerk, Rashid Kay shared his views but decided to in include Zwai Bala.

Zwai is a TKZee member who was in his prime in the 90’s and mid-2000’s. He became one of renowned SA artists who contributed to the music industry reaching new heights. Back in 2001 he was awarded for Best Rap in The SAMAs, it caused a lot of controversy even years after it had happened.

Rashid Kay brought it up once more  stating how it was wrongly given like The Nobel Peace Prize FW De Klerk received. What angered most people is how the track he received an award for was from a gospel genre. It left people questioning the credibility of the Awards.

“The @NobelPrize was wrongly given to #FWDeKlerk like @TheSAMAs gave Zwai Bala the Best Rap award,” wrote the SA Hip Hop Awards co-founder.

It may have been enough reason for Rashid Kay to decide that SA needs Awards strictly for Hip hop that way awards will land in the deserving hands.
