SA Rappers React To The Passing Of Legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo Leader ‘Joseph Shabalala’. Another legend lost in SA.
South Africa has once more woken up to the sad news of the passing of one of its icons, Jabulani Shabalala. The Ladysmith Black Mambazo lead singer suffered a long time illness which claimed his life at a Pretoria hospital last night.
SA Rappers were amongst the people who paid respect and tribute to the late legend. They showed appreciation on the great contribution Shabalala has had in the SA music industry. He uplifted uMbhaqanga music to a point where they won 8 Grammy awards. So far no other African artist has won so many awards in one international ceremony.
Having marked his way into the industry young men and women still regard him as one of the best inspirations.
