Reason Shares What It Would Take For Him To Quit Conscious Rap. Could SA be slowly losing conscious rap artists?

Hip hop is one of the most challenging genres that always require for rappers to be relevant, to get on with the times and deliver solid material. Other have followed suit to the style of keeping up with relevance then when the money got right it became a field to express themselves as they please.

Jay Z is the good example of how as time went by he made music good enough for him not for the fans. But because he had already accumulated a humongous fan base, his music never lost taste. Hov has been an inspiration to many fellow rappers including SA’s very own Reason.

The Azania rapper shared his future plans in music and they unfortunately don’t include him continuing with conscious rap. Like Jay Reason’s goal is to make conscious music now then when he has made enough money, do music for fun.

“Basically. Jay z got rich and finally got a chance to be the conscious rapper he wanted to be ??‍♂️ I think I can learn from this. Go make money. So you can rap for fun,” he wrote.

This was after he defended Jay Z from Sizwe Dhlomo who claimed he wasn’t as good in music as he was before.
