Nasty C takes us through what led to his latest milestone

Nasty C Opens Up About How He Got Signed To Def Jam Recordings.  Last week SA Hip hop rejoiced to the news of one of its own achieving the best milestone in his career.

Having a conversation with Slikour via IG, Nasty C opened up about how he landed such a great deal.

Signing to an American record label is a sign of how one has reached the peak of success in music. Def Jam Recordings has accommodated names of the biggest stars in history including Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Frank Ocean.

“It’s powerful to be a part of the Def Jam family,” added Nasty C. “It’s an iconic record label and has made the careers of many of the artists I look up to.”

We have seen those artist flourish worldworldwide. This means that Nasty C is now an official international star. The label confirmed the news.

Def Jam Recordings interim chairman/CEO Jeff Harleston stated, “Nasty C is a unique and forward-thinking artist who is at the forefront of a new generation of rappers emerging from Africa. Def Jam is a globally recognized brand synonymous with excellence in hip-hop, and we are excited to welcome Nasty C — an international star with real vision and talent — into the family.”

Nasty C had to confirm clearly as  well after the confusion that surfaced back in 2016 claiming he was signing to Roc Nation. On an hour’s long interview he shared a series of stories that led to the sealing of the deal.

“It’s something we’ve been working on for a couple of months. Everytime I’ve been to the states we’ve been tryna finesse our way in one way or another. Rushing on Radio stations, trying to get DJz, artists and producers to spread my name. Once that started happening, I got verification from other artists I’ve worked with from there. It then got to the higher position (the label),” he said.
