Nadia Nakai States What Upcoming Artists Need To Do To Break Into The Industry. In the midst of a large number of people trying to get into industry there are always celebrities willing to help. Nadia Nakai may not have yet taken someone under her wing but she has helfpful words to share.

Speaking to Music Mozaik about her album, 30th birthday and lockdown the award winning rapper touched on industry issues. The main issue is worming a way in, and keeping relevant. A lot of young upcoming artists are usually clueless because they have no experience, people who have had the experience have shared their part.

“I believe in empowering female rappers BUT I always say it must be because you have the talent first and foremost. We [female rappers of today] have had to prove ourselves by having the talent and dedication to cut it in this industry.”

“We need to make sure that the platforms and lanes exist for everyone to make it regardless of gender or anything else. But we also need to ensure that people know – in order to make it, you have to be exceptional. And that’s just the beginning of it – you also need to learn the ropes of the industry to avoid being exploited; you need to know your value so you can operate like a business; you need to be consistently improving and pushing yourself to grow; you need to deal with setbacks. It’s a lot,” she told the publication.

Hopefully this was helpful to upcoming artists…
