Gigi Lamayne Pens A Letter “To the 12 year old me”

Gigi pens a heartfelt letter to the 12 year old her as motivation and inspiration to keep going and see brightness ahead of darkness.

Gigi Lamayne made headlines last year for attempting to commit suicide after suffering depression in silence. When interviewed after the ordeal she shared how she felt things were closing in on her. She explained that she had a rough childhood.

“My battle with the illness was due to a traumatic childhood. I tried to over excel because of the inadequacies I would feel. In not addressing that you do suffer from something, you’re only creating one hectic blizzard. Come to terms with the fact that it isn’t your fault,” tweeted Gigi Lamayne.

Now she is sending a message of comfort to the younger version of her who went through the abuse that affected her mentally. “To the 12 year old me: One day you’re gonna think life is futile. But hold on a little longer, your journey has only begun.” I’m honored to represent women in music and specifically in hip hop on a world class stage tomorrow.”
