With all its dominance on radio stations in South Africa, the song did not make it to the number 1 spot for song of the year on Ukhozi FM. Taking to Twitter, former Teargas member Ntukza praised the radio station for not following the bandwagon and hype that came with Sete.

Ntukza said that the Ukhozi radio station holds the final say on which song should be considered the song of the year. “No radio station can hold down #SongOfTheYear like UKhozi fm, other stations can also join in the excitement but final word is from UKhozi fm. It’s been that way forever, just like Awards are by Metro fm,” he tweeted.

Ngeke by Big Nuz, which is now at number one, was named song of the year by the radio station, but Sete didn’t appear in the top 5, which infuriated many social media users. Sete has dominated the radio charts for 16 consecutive weeks breaking the record set by Master KG’s Jerusalem.

K.O. has dominated the music industry for the past 16 years and the rapper is showing no sign of slowing down. As we enter the new year, K.O. already revealed his clear plan for new music, the rapper stated that he is currently working on a new album despite dominating the charts with Sete and SR3 project. “As we speak, I’m working on a new album already if all goes well, hopefully like next year I can drop something else as a follow-up,” he said in an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag.
