Why Sho Madjozi Will Continue With Sony Music Label Despite Being Signed To Epic Records

Why Sho Madjozi Will Continue With Sony Music Label Despite Being Signed To Epic Records. Ever since we found out that one of our own Sho Madjozi was leaping to the international audience it was an achievement for everyone. What we all didn’t is that she is still a signed artist at another label.

Speaking to the Plug Magazine Sony’s Managing Director Sean Watson confirmed that despite Sho being signed to Epic Records she will continue with them.

“We’re working at a special company at a special time and we couldn’t be prouder than we are of our local star Sho and our big sister Sylvia for partnering to make this happen,” says Sean Watson, Managing Director of Sony Music Entertainment Africa.

Sho will be dropping her next single under Epic Records.

Chairman and C.E.O. of Epic Records, Sylvia Rhone, said of the signing, “African artists are enjoying an unprecedented level of visibility in music and Sho Madjozi is beautifully waving the flag for South Africa. She’s bold, brilliant and remarkably talented and her music embodies all that is special about her homeland. We’re honoured to have her as the newest member of the Epic family.”

Mdjozi’s hit singles John Cena” and “Huku” have each logged over a million streams on Spotify, bringing her to the attention of Beyonce and Ed Sheeran, with whom she shared a stage at the 2019 Global Citizen Festival.
