YoungstaCPT On Being Denied An Award For Addressing SA Struggles
YoungstaCPT still unhappy at being overlooked for an SA Music Award for 3T album

YoungstaCPT On Being Denied An Award For Addressing SA Struggles. South African Music Awards held their 26th annual event during Lockdown where it released a list of nominees including YoungstaCPT for 3T in the category of Best Hip Hop Album 2019. Unfortunately the Cape Town rapper didn’t win instead Yanga Chief earned the award for BAPS.
The loss seemes to be well handled at first but in time artists express how such affects them. The Yaatie rapper scooped two awards at the SA Hip Hop Awards last year, he was also nominated alongside Nasty C for the Rapper of the Year award at the Ugandan 256 Hip Hop Awards 2020. All this made it easy to believe that the SAMAs would consider him unfortunately the votes didn’t pan out in his favour.
3T is considered a classic project because it speaks of the reality mostly struggles of South Africans. Having it overlooked had the rapper feel the country has a lot to work on.
“Shot this video last year in Eldos when no one cared whether we lived or died. Before hashtags and social media took note. Then released a whole album based on South African struggle that couldn’t win a South Africa music award. I said my piece, 3T is my testament,” he wrote ending off with emojis of a sad face and an SA Flag.
I said my piece…
there will never be peace 😔🕉✊🏽
