Zoocci Coke Dope’s Reaction To Nota Comparing Him To Makwa & Calling him a Copycat Producer. Last week Zoocci came forward to address fellow rappers on how they fail to put together albums. In the list of people who didn’t react kindly to Dope’s views was the opinionated Nota Baloyi.
Nota didn’t tread softly while confronting Zoocci he laid it all bare that he thinks the Different rapper is a copycat who samples American sound only. Even went as far as to bring producer Makwa into the mix, comparing the two.
“Zoocci but when are you expanding your sound beyond tracing American composers’ beats? When are you composing your own style and sound? When’ll you be original? In the next life? I remember when @only1makwa traced Hells Kitchen on King Speech, I roasted him until he quit copying,” wrote Nota.
Baloyi added on to praise Makwa and advised the 26 year old that he needs to drop classic albums before he tells others otherwise.
“He’s a producer with a distinct proudly South African sound. He co-composed a HUNDRED TIMES PLATINUM SELLING SINGLE (2million) on a TEN TIMES PLATINUM SELLING HIP-HOP ALBUM (350k). You still need to produce at least 3 classic albums before tuning cats, when all you do is copycat!”
