Cassper Nyovest Comments On DJ Lag Song Theft By Black Eyed Peas Member Will.i.am

Mzansi has since stood up for Durban based Qgom DJ, DJ Lag, after it was confirmed that musician and producer Will.i.am has plagiarised the DJ’s 2016 hit single ‘Ice Drop’ on his latest produced single titled Culture by DJ Megan Ryte, A$AP Ferg and the producer himself.

The Black Eyed Peas member has since issued an apology to DJ Lag for allegedly “getting credit information wrong” after he was exposed for literally copying and pasting the beat of the 2016 song. Following the social media outrage by South African, he has asked for forgiveness for the mishap.

According to the big time American producer, when he realised the mistake regarding the credits, he tried to rectify it however, it was already too late.

According to The Sowetan, DJ Lag has commented on the scandal in confirming that no permission was given for the usage of his song, and his management is currently dealing with the situation. Many artists from Mzansi such as Cassper Nyovest felt like DJ Lag was done very dirty and deserves more than just an apology.

“What about the Coins and the credit on the song? How about a young Black Eyed Peas record produced by Dj Lag ? What happens now king?” Cassper wrote.
