Proverb Shares How He Landed A Gig With Idols SA Leading To Him Becoming A Co-Executive Producer

Proverb Shares How He Landed A Gig With Idols SA Leading To Him Becoming A Co-Executive Producer. After serving over 10 years in the Hip hop industry, Proverb challenged himself to try out new ventures including auditioning for a role on Idols SA.

Speaking to MacG on a latest interview regarding his book and more Proverb explained how he managed to be one of the biggest parts of the show. Unlike most celebrities he wasn’t hand picked for the role instead he went to audition and didn’t do well the first time. It wasn’t until he was granted a second chance that his life changed for the greater good.

“I just did my regular audition, I think I even fluffed my line but the moment I believed I can get this gig, there was the guy who is now my business partner Gavin Raden, the executive producer of SA Idols said ‘relax try again’ and then I took a moment and in that moment it’s only when I believed ‘man I can get this gig’ I took my moment and i delivered that line.”

Proverb released a memoir last month titled The Book Of Proverb which detailed the most sensitive parts of his life including a time he almost committed suicide.

“The article about my eventual divorce broke on a Sunday, and I had to do a show later that evening. All the emotional turmoil eventually drove me to an attempted suicide. But I still went on air the following Sunday. The show must go on,” he added.
