Following his contribution to Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C the NorthWest-born rapper has expressed his love for SA Hip-hop but he has said that he doesn’t listen to much of SA Hip hop. During an interview on Turbang Studios TV, held during Nasty C’s “I Love It Here” album listening session, Maglera expressed his desire to distinguish himself from his contemporaries in South African hip-hop. He clarified that this motivation leads him to avoid listening extensively to the genre.

“I have love for SA Hip-hop, I dont listen to it much in terms of like I’m really diving into everyone’s project because sometimes I want to stay away from sounding like the boys. But I do acknowledge them, I do have a thorough understanding of everyone who is in the game and what they do,” he said.

Maglera Doe Boy has been deeply engaged in collaborations with numerous artists within the South African music industry. He mentioned that these collaborations have served as a means for his fans to grasp his unique music style, one that sets him apart from other rappers.

“All of this has been planned. I did features for four years, positioning myself because a lot of people were questioning what I was saying because my slang is so different. So I felt the best way to teach South Africans was on other people’s songs.” He told  TshisaLIVE.
