DJ Double D Speaks On No Solutions Being Implemented For The Problems In The Industry

DJ Double D recently went on a mini twitter rant about how everyone has something to say went it comes to pointing out the problems with the local music industry, but when it comes to finding a solution they don’t keep the same energy.

The hip hop DJ backed his argument in a thread stating that when the rule of 90% local music on radio was introduced after local artists mainly complained about the amount of radio play however, there was not enough research or knowledge done of how this could be achieved.

“Keep in mind the government doesn’t even know where or how they going to even source 90% of CLEAN radio friendly music” he wrote.

Everyone complained that there is NOT ENOUGH local music being played on radio… Government comes out to say “We will play 90% local”… Keep in mind the government doesn’t even know where or how they going to even source 90% of CLEAN radio friendly music…

He continued to state that an initiative was taken to create such a platform for easy access to local music for the quota to be adhered to but instead of utilising it, they chose to hate on the solution that was brought to the table.

“Instead of embracing it, they will want to downplay it or hate” he said.

In a nutshell, Double D called out those responsible of pin pointing what’s wrong with the industry but aren’t consistent with the energy when it comes to implementing change and something has to change about that for the sake of the music.

“Find solutions to the problems” he said.

My point is that people will sit on the bench complaining & finding all the flaws but when it’s actually their time to get in the game they aren’t implementing positive change or helping grow the “team”. Find solutions to the problems. Don’t throw stones in a glass house !
