Big Zulu’s Reaction To Not Winning ‘Song of The Year’ For Imali Eningi On Ukhozi FM. Like the aftermath to most competitions, Big Zulu’s loss on the 2020 Song Of The Year Top 10 list left most people wondering ‘how’.
Inkabi as he likes to call himself was nominated amongst other 10 artists to bid the year 2020 farewell, for his hit single Imali Eningi. Featured on the track is the rising star Intaba YaseDubai alongside the Cotton King Riky Rick. The so reached 5 million views and remained at number for weeks, planting more hope that it would win. When Khuzani was announced as a winner for his hit Ijele, hopes shattered.
Winning the award as Cassper once stated would’ve been a win for the culture, in fact a number of rappers were rooting for Big Zulu to grace the title. Unfortunately the votes didn’t do the justice most fans to the song hoped for.
“Nkabi Nation🇿🇦 Ngiyabonga kakhulu ngothando sikwenze konke okusemandleni siwuqophile umlando inkulu ingoma niyithandile👏🏿ngibongele nawo wonke umuntu esinaye ku top 10 nginifisela impumelelo nenjabulo❤️Good luck for tonight💌Ngiyabonga,” Zulu thanked his fans prior the closing of voting lines.
The 34 year-old hasn’t said much about the loss on the Top 10 but expressed disappointment at missing out on the chance to further elevate the game.
Here’s how he reacted;
