Cassper Nyovest Shares Why The SAMAs Don’t Mean Anything To Artists

Cassper Nyovest Shares Why The SAMAs Don’t Mean Anything To Artists. Cassper came back to th TL speaking the truth and addressed the controversy attached to the notorious South African Music Awards (SAMAs) and how they have now lost their worth.

AS a rapper who has yet to win the coveted award himself, Cassper spoke of how the people have since lost interest in the platform and that is all thanks to the corruption that has stripped the awards platform of its dignity and stature.

According to the rapper, the organisers behind the SAMAs had their own interests at heart not to mention the rigging of votes which has played a hand in the audience disconnecting with the platform entirely.

“Do people even remember who won the SAMAs last year? That used to be the biggest and most important award for artist. Now it doesnt mean anything. You know why ? Corruption, they thought they were bigger than the artists. They disconnected from the culture. It’s all rigged. Dead” Cassper wrote.

Although this might be the case, Cassper is not willing to let the SAMAs go without a fight and has expressed his eagerness to breath life back into the historic awards platform.

In a follow up tweet, the ‘Nokthula’ hitmaker shared how he would like to one day work with the SAMAs not only to help them get back on track, but to also increase his legendary status.

“SAMAs need a mouth to mouth. They need CPR. I would love to help them come to live again one day I’d love to do the production for the SAMAs. That’s gonna be legendary” Cassper wrote.

Other rappers who have also expressed their disappointment in the SAMAs include Nadia Nakai, JR, Stogie T and many more. According to hip hop artists, the ‘Best Hip Hop Album’ category was tribalistic, sexist and bias as the category was lacking some female contenders who are well deserving of the recognition, apart from many other reasons.
