Newcomer On The Block Priddy Prince shining at age 15! There is certainly no age limit to when rappers can begin their careers in SA hip-hop, there are no rules to what a rapper can be in this industry. In the age of the internet anyone can be discovered and recognized by the SA Hip Hop radar.
Hailing from Cape Town at just 15-years-old, Priddy Prince is on everyone’s lips with his killer flow and impeccable worth ethic. The young rapper came onto the SA Hip-Hop radar when he recorded a freestyle to DJ Mustard and Roddy Ricch’s Ballin’ in July 2020. The YouTube freestyle has since been viewed over 7000 times and gotten love from the likes of Ms Cosmo, DJ Speedsta and MTV Base’s Tshego Koke.
Priddy Prince recently released his song Jump 2 and the music video to go along with it. Days after the music video’s release the newcomer had already clocked over 10 000 views on YouTube for only his second single.
American YouTuber Mansa Mayne’s (who has reacted to several South African Hip-Hop videos) first video reacted to Priddy Prince’s first music video Jump. In the video he said the rapper was a ‘Young Bobby Shmurda’. He mentioned that Priddy Prince can be put next to newcomers Blxckie and LucasRaps and that the future of South African Hip-Hop is in good hands.
