Jody Lepara Speaks On Majority Of Talented Artists Going Independent

Jody Lepara Speaks On Majority Of Talented Artists Going Independent. It’s no secret that many artists in Mzansi especially in the hip hop scene have ditched their former recording labels to fly solo, and rapper jody claims that this is becoming more evident on mainstream radio station playlists.

It’s now becoming more of a trend for rappers to leave their stables and although the reasons behind their decisions to leave often differ with each rapper, it seems to have worked for many rappers.

Benchmarq member Jody Lepara has taken to twitter to point out how many dope local artists have chosen to face the music alone, which has become evident on the radio charts.

Jody claims that this is why people have lost interest in listening to the radio and rather request to play their own music whilst in the car.

“feels like … a lot of DOPE SA artists that make really DOPE music are independent now. Radio is proof of this. and that’s why people either want bluetooth or aux when they hop in the whip” he wrote.

Many of his followers on twitter, agreed that the rapper is talking big facts as mainstream media is only after artist with hype not talent. A few rappers who have left their former stables to open their very own establishments include Emtee, The Big Hash, Fifi Cooper and many more.
