Nasty C Explains Sampling Black Mambazo On Upcoming Album! In recent times we have seen the SA Hip Hop scene sort of come to accept the idea of sampling as we have seen a number of artists sampling classics.

Nasty C recently held a listening session for his upcoming album titled Strings And Bling in London with different personalities in the Hip Hop game. During the session, Nasty was asked if he had intentionally sampled Lady Smith Black Mambazo on one of the songs on the album.

“I was in this rap/poetry group in high school called “Poetic Elements” that consisted of about four singers, three poets and two rappers so that’s the style we would do because at school we couldn’t perform on beats. So that’s what we would do, they would hum the melodies and I would rap over it so I just kind of missed that and I felt like, it felt genuine making something like that,” said Nasty C.
