Anatii Wins His First Grammy Award! SA Hip Hop Reacts. SA Hip Hop has it’s first Grammy Award thanks to the talented Anatii who scooped an Award at the Grammys 2021 for his work on Beyonce’s hit song “Brown Skin Girl” featuring Wizkid and Blue Ivy Carter.
Anatii is listed as a songwriter on the song alongside Jay Z, Wizkid and Beyonce amonst others. ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which won “Best Music Video” award is a single off Beyonce’s 2019 album “The Lin King: The Gift” and is listed in the RnB/Afrobeats genre. The song has won Anatii a couple of Award in America including a Soul Train Award when it won the Ashford and Simpson’s songwriter’s award. Anatii also composed the track Mood 4 Eva on the album, which featured Jay-Z and Childish Gambino.
Back in 2019, Anatii took to Instagram in a now deleted post sharing his experience working with Beyoncé saying he felt honored to be amongst such amazing souls. “The energy was pure! The cultural shift has begun!” he said at the time.
