Cassper Explains Why Family Tree Won’t Be Signing Artists And Will Only Be Just Him And Nadia

Family Tree was one of the busiest labels a couple years ago with artists such as Chad da Don, Gemini Major, Nadia Nakai and Tshego. The crew dropped some of the dopest songs in those years but after Gemini Major and Tshego left the stable the label has just been left with Cassper Nyovest and Nadia Nakai. Nadia recently dropped her album this year which was well received. Many people had been curious to know what transpired at Family Tree.

Recently speaking on why he left family tree recently, Tshego said “I wanted to control when I drop,” he said. “I wanted to control whether I get PR or marketing and how much I spend on this. I finally wanted someone to point a finger at. I wanted someone I can wake up in the morning and know that I can call that person ask them why hasn’t this been done. I wanted to actually like, ‘okay, it’s time to move, I need to hit these marks,’ but I needed people to be accountable to hit these marks. I can’t hit these marks alone.”

Cassper however took the time to explain why he is not keen on signing new acts for now by saying “I artist tsone dia lapisa. Just me and Nadia for now. Maybe I’ll meet someone that might change my mind.”

he added on to say “Ima hire Producers and engineers first. I wanna work with new talent who produce and engineer. Nobody ever gives them a solid shot.”

The cool thing is that Cassper is not entirely closed to signing up new people, he just need the right person to change his mind.
