Nota On Emtee: “We Need That Guy To Stay Sober”
Nota On Emtee: “We Need That Guy To Stay Sober”. Nota Baloyi has always made headlines for his controversial opinions on social media platforms and on local podcasts that he is featured on as a guest. The music executive is always current with what’s going on in SA Hip Hop and although his opinions are concerning sometimes, he does shed light on important issues.
Nota featured on the most recent episode of MacG’s podcast as a guest to celebrate the podcast achieving over 100 000 subscribers. Along with the podcast hosts, the three spoke about Black Coffeee, Nota’s personal life and touched on Nellie Tembe’s death. On the topic of Nellie’s death he highlighted her father’s speech where he mentioned drugs and alcohol saying that there is a serious issue with substance abuse.
Nota then got into speaking about the episode MacG did with Emtee expressing that he was upset at how the interview was conducted specifically when MacG said he shouldn’t leave lean and the weed. He continued speaking about Emtee’s previous experiences with drugs.
“At the end of the day we need that guy to stay sober because we’ve seen what has happened to him on drugs. He crashed two Mercedes Benzes. Those are expensive cars, I’ve got two of them, I know. He crashed two of them, and then ran away.“
“Immediately after both of those accidents, and then he crashed his own car and that’s the only reason why he was sober when he did that interview with you. But you can see the effects that the lean and the weed and whatever else he’s been taking has had on him. You can see it.”
“Like, I had to watch that interview twice. I had to watch it in normal speed, right? And I nearly pulled my hair out and then I had to listen to it in double speed, and in double speed he sounds like he’s talking like a normal person.” Nota explained.
