5 Shocking Statements AKA Said In His Tell All Interview. After the sudden passing of Anele “Nellie” Tembe, plenty of questions arose of what lead to her death. The 22-year-old was engaged to AKA at the time of her passing and AKA sat down with seasoned journalist Thembekile Mrototo for a tell all interview.

In the interview the two covered a number of topics including the events of the evening before her death, their relationship, AKA‘s relationship with her family, as well as drug use. Here are 5 statements AKA said in the tell all interview with Thembekile.

AKA Recounts The Moments Before Anele Died

“The thing that really breaks my heart and I still have her ring with me, it’s really the last… the only thing of hers, of her belongings, and she took it off she threw it at me and then we said very mean things to each other and so I left the room. Came back to the room because I had taken her phone and obviously we continued to argue and then things took a turn for the worst when we had gotten to a point in the argument where Anele had kind of threatened to kill herself.

“To you know, jump off the balcony. She didn’t say it in those words though. I had called reception for security and I tried to remove myself from the situation, I think maybe out of panic. I didn’t want to be there or kind of feel that this was going to happen, I kind of wanted to remove myself. So I went to the bathroom, and when I came out the bathroom she wasn’t in the room“.

How He Reacted When He Noticed She Was Gone

“I just started screaming ‘Oh My God, Oh My God, Oh My God’ It’s something that is ingrained in my mind forever. It’s not easy to think about, it’s not easy to talk about. I remember going out to the balcony By the time I made it out to the balcony there was a gentleman to my left who was already on his balcony. I remember I started screaming and losing my mind.“

“I ran next door, to where my friend was started banging on his door just hysterical. He opened the door, dragged me off the floor. That’s where the nightmare began.”

How He Reacted When He Heard She Wasn’t Dead Yet

“They said she was still alive. So that made me go even crazier because I had seen her so I started thinking there’s no way. We are staying on the 10th floor, there’s no way she could’ve survived that why are you telling me this you’re only messing with me don’t tell me something like that. And then I stayed in the room, they kept me up there.”

AKA On Abuse Claims

“Speaking to the images of the last week, I understand what it looks like. I understand that I need to own that. I regret it and I can only image how I must’ve frightened her, how scared she must’ve been and it’s not something that I’m proud of and it’s something that I need to own and if I could redo it or get to that point again or go back in time which is what I keep saying to myself about a lot of things when someone passes like this.”

“I know that what I am not is an abuser, I am not somebody who would abuse Anele because I treated her like Gold she was my everything. And still remains my everything.“

AKA Responds To A Question About Drug Use

“When it comes to the issue of drugs, I’ve been in the entertainment industry for 15, nearly 20 years now. Have I tried drugs before? Yes I have. I can say that without question but on the part of Anele, like I said Anele’s not here and I’m not going to speak on delve on that on Anele’s part.“
