Blxckie Reacts To Having The 4th Biggest Song In Africa. Blxckie has made a big name for himself in the SA Hip Hop industry. The young rapper all the way from Durban recently released his debut album and fans have been raving about it since the drop.
Blxckie recently took to twitter to react to his track Sika being the fourth biggest song in Africa. The song is placed behind African superstars Wizkid, Olamide and Grammy award winning Burna Boy. In response to the news, Blxckie shockingly tweeted, “lol wait what“. The only other South African on the list is Shekhinah for her single Questions.
Blxckie secured the support of SA Hip Hop with his debut album release B4Now. The 12-track album features Flvme, LucasRaps and Nasty C on their collaboration Ye X 4. When speaking about the banger in an interview, Blxckie explained that Ye X 4 is almost like a national anthem. He revealed that he didn’t have to pay for the feature and that it came about organically.
The new wave rapper mentioned his album is made up of songs that he made before he became a mainstream artist. He explained to MacG and Sol Phenduka that he had to go through a total of 420 songs to land at the 12 on his album and said that if you make at least a song everyday, one is bound to end up at that number.
He said he split up the 420 songs into months and years. He said choosing 12 songs wasn’t necessarily difficult because he knew what he wanted to do for the album and that was to reintroduce himself to SA Hip Hop. Blxckie has a number of other features lined up for 2021 with some other artists one being Focalistic. He also hinted at an upcoming collaboration with Vic Mensa.
