JR To Launch The Continent’s First Cellphone Music Distribution App. JR has played a massive role in the development of the South African music industry. The rapper and businessman always has his hands full in making sure that the SA music industry is in goods hands. He is now working on a life changing music app that will assist plenty of artists in the distribution of their music.

JR On Why Feel Good Sessions Can't Make A Comeback

The 4Four hit maker recently took to twitter to share that he has been working on Africa’s first cellphone distribution app with co-founder Sizwe Hlongwane. The distribution app is called Fvye World set to be released on the 1st of June 2021. The app’s twitter bio describes the app as “Africa’s first distribution tech tool created for the independent musician. Bring The World to You. LAUNCHING June 2021.

The app will allow artists to distribute music through to 39 different digital streaming platforms right from your cellphone. The app will also allow it’s users to send their music to radio stations to be considered for playlisting on various stations.

In an interview about the new app, JR mentioned that the launch of Fyve is big turning point in the African music landscape. He mentioned that for too long big companies have put barriers on the entry into the industry for young upcoming artists and that the app is changing the narrative by evening out the playing field and giving equal opportunity for success to all artists.

JR has always had an innovative mind and always has the best intentions for the industry. In 2017 JR launched Feel Good Live Sessions where fans got a different feel of their favourite artists. The artists performed stripped down and intimate versions of their most popular songs. Artists that featured on the series include A-Reece, Emtee, Kwesta, Reason, Sjava and Kid X.
