Makwa Reveals How Much He Was Getting Paid By Rap Lyf Records. Makwa has been making headlines recently speaking on how he has been mistreated as a producer in the SA Hip Hop industry. The All Go hitmaker has made how he feels very clear on various platforms including social media and is now taking a stand to speak about his ill treatment.

Makwa Reveals Why The Artists Under His Label Don't Have Contracts

The rapper and producer recently became the latest artist to feature on The Sobering Podcast. Makwa spoke on a number of topics including his rise in the music industry, his relationship with his old colleagues Kwesta, Nota, and Leroy as well as the fall of Rap Lyf Records. Makwa was asked by one of the podcasts hosts how much he was receiving from the record label.

The star producer revealed that he was getting around 20k but the tax that was deducted from what he was earning was around 3k. When asked if there’s potential that he could owe SARS, he mentioned that he has to check because a lot of things he finds out on the internet.

Makwa then began speaking out about the person who was responsible for bringing Wale to South Africa and had a few misunderstandings with Leroy and Kwesta claiming that they owed him money. Makwa was told by him that he was owed for bringing the international acts to South Africa including Rick Ross.

The Ayipheli hitmaker mentioned that his relationship with his former colleagues was all good and no one was on bad terms. Makwa even had a feature on Kwesta’s new album g.o.d Guluva on the track Nthabiseng.

Makwa recently went on IG Live to demand money from artists that owe him. According to a confidential statement by SAMPRA, Makwa has only ever produced 8 songs in his career. He said that this is false and demands that those who owe him, pay him.
