He detailed how he began playing the piano as a young boy and spoke a bit about where he is now in his career. Master A Flat also used the opportunity to highlight the big role that AKA played in who he has become today.
Toward the end of the interview, Riky Rick mentioned that success for Master A Flat is about creating a legacy and a platform that others can also shine on. The successful producer mentioned he wouldn’t be where he is in his career now if it wasn’t for AKA and spoke greatly about how he was given a platform.
“Cause I wouldn’t be here had AKA, Kiernan Forbes not opened the door for me giving me the platform to say “Yo, function, here, you can put in as much as I was serving. I’m not saying I was the wisest guy and I pulled it off. He gave me the platform said yo, here’s the platform you can run, do something. You guys gave me the platform, you’ve chased me around. We made that one song, that one song for me was enough, you gave me that platform.“
“You called me a few years later you said Yo’ come fetch the plaque, I said where you said come we’re dining here in Sandton come relax and have some nice salmon steak or whatever we were having. I wouldn’t have learnt anything, I’d still only have that capacity I had when I was by myself in my room.“
