Nasty C Shares His Opinion About Which Genre Of Music Sells The Most In South Africa. The South African music industry has always been quite competitive with plenty of genres. Some artists are lucky to exist in more than one genre but it’s still tough to make it as a musician and tougher as an independent musician in South Africa.

Nasty C recently featured on Off The Porch for an exclusive interview while visiting the United States. The rapper spoke about what it was like growing up in South Africa, his album Zulu Man With Some Power as well as his plans while he is in the U.S amongst other things.

When speaking about how amapiano has impacted the SA music industry, he was asked by the interviewer what other styles of music are coming out of South Africa. He then began naming our other prominent genres and shared which one he feels sells the most.

If I would mention amapiano as it’s own genre it would be Amapiano, there’s Kwaito, we have a small but very dope R&B scene. Hip Hop scene, Gospel goes crazy in SA, I feel like Gospel makes the most money in South Africa also which is crazy but yeah pretty much those 5 genres.” He explained.

When asked which Gospel artists are doing their thing in South Africa he mentioned two of our country’s most loved artists being Rebecca Malope, and the late Sfiso Ncwane. He mentioned that he’s not that into Gospel music but came across it because he would hear his parents play it a lot.

The Black and White hitmaker has been linking up with a few heavyweight Hip Hop artists in the U.S and fans are hoping for collaborations with them. Nasty C was in studio with Zaytoven, Jeezy and EarthGang. Stay tuned to see what he has coming up!
