Gigi Lamayne On Her Biggest Flex To Date
Gigi Lamayne On Her Biggest Flex To Date Gigi Lamayne has been in the SA Hip Hop industry for over 5 years and has collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the country. She has grown her brand exponentially and has fought for her place in the industry.
The Bozza rapper recently joined TshisaLive for an interview about her growth in the entertainment industry. She mentioned that one of her lows in the industry was being singed to a label where she claims she was sidelined and the focus was put on male artists in the label.
“You know, like no matter how hard working I was or how I tried to prove myself, it was always that my male counterparts always received more attention that me and even when I really tried to show the people in charge that look, I am really talented and I put in the work and the effort. That became super destructive to my emotional and mental health.”
Since becoming an independent artist, Gigi has grown to become one of SA’s most prominent rappers. She also spoke her biggest highlight as a rapper. She mentioned that it was her Fufa release with King Monada that made that moment and releasing it while she was independent.
“Becoming independent is my biggest highlight and biggest flex because hits like Fufa featuring King Monada happened when I was independent.” She said.
Gigi is set to release her album Mermaids and Stuff on the 16th of July 2021. She has already released the first single from the project, Feelin U featuring Mi Casa and Blxckie. The upcoming album features the likes of Nadia Nakai, 25K, Sho Madjozi, Manu WorldStar, Blaklez and award winning producer pH Raw X.
